FAQs

Where do trips depart?
All our boat trips leave from Victoria Pier which is situated at the end of the Cobb in Lyme Regis. Find your way to the harbour then walk along the Cobb harbour wall past Lyme Regis Marine Aquarium and the Fishing College. Please arrive 10 minutes before the trip departs.

If I private charter a boat can I decide what we do?
Yes, when you private charter our boat, you can decide to go on a sightseeing trip, mackerel fishing or do both, it is entirely up to you. When booking a private charter using our online system, you can ignore what type of trip is specified for that hourly slot as you are booking that slot for your own private use and can determine what the trip entails.

Can I private charter for more than one hour?
Yes, simply book consecutive hourly trips via our online booking system.

Do I need to bring any fishing gear, bait or any other equipment for a mackerel fishing trip?
No, all equipment is provided. We use hand lines for mackerel fishing with one line shared between two people. This reduces the chance of tangles and makes for a better experience for everyone.

Will I see dolphins?
During the summer months we occasionally encounter dolphins during a boat trip. Obviously nothing is guaranteed, but if you are lucky enough to see dolphins, it is quite magical.

Are dogs permitted on the boat?
Yes, well behaved dogs are allowed.

What happens if I book a trip and the sea condition is rough or there is a bad weather?
Trips run at the discretion of the skipper and our passengers safety is paramount. If we cancel a trip, you will receive an email informing you the trip has been cancelled and you will receive a full refund. You are very welcome to book an alternative trip with us.

Where can I park my car?
There are various long stay car parks in Lyme Regis. Check out the Love Lyme Regis website for details car parks. Parking spaces in Lyme can fill up quickly during the busy summer months, so please allow plenty of time to park and walk to the end of the Cobb, ready to board at least 10 minutes before scheduled departure.

Do you have a toilet?
There is a toilet on board Susie B but we advise you to use one of the public conveniences before boarding.

How easy is it to get on the boat?
Unlike a lot of tripping boats, Susie B has easy step on access with a side door making it very easy to get on and off the boat.
